Before the arrival of Hurricane Irma on United States soil, Dr. Luettich warned residents of both Florida and Georgia of the immediate danger Hurricane Irma’s storm surges could have on coastal residents. He notes the higher potential for coastal areas and low-lying areas to be aware of these storm surges and be prepared for flooding.
