The Department of Geological Sciences own postdoctoral scholar John Gardner’s recent paper has been published in Geophysical Research Letters and featured in online articles including: Salon, LiveScience, Nature, Weatherand the Daily Mail. Gardner works in the Global Hydrology Lab with Dr. Pavelsky. The research study involves the examining of river water color as a measure for water quality and to further understanding of changing river ecology. River water color patterns were studied using satellite  remote sensing records between 1984 and 2018.
