WRAL writes about how alumna Zena Cardman could be the first woman to walk on the Moon. 
She was selected out of 18,000 applicants by NASA to join the 2017 astronaut class.
Cardman is in the Artemis program with 12 other astronaut candidates, who, after graduation, will be eligible for space flight. The goal of the Artemis program is to launch missions to the Moon and eventually Mars.
