UNC-CH’s Department of Marine Sciences is proud to host a seminar by UNC alum (1984) Mary Watzin, Ph.D.. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, February 27th, at 3:35pm in room G201 on the ground floor of Murray Hall at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Title: Challenges and opportunities in environmental research – making a difference in North Carolina and beyond.
Abstract: The need for environmental research and innovation – and environmental leadership – has never been greater, but finding the resources to do the work and bringing the results to policy makers, business leaders, and others has also never been more challenging. I’ll share my perspectives on critical research needs, new opportunities for funding, and the power of cross sector collaborations and partnerships for creating positive change in a rapidly changing world.
