Research Interests

Eve’s primary research focus is coastal geomorphology; how beaches, dunes, and entire barrier island systems change in the face of various conditions including hurricane impacts.

Research and Activities

Eve’s research is conducted using a number of methods including on-the-ground field measurements of plants and elevations, to remotely-sensed datasets of entire islands, to computer models estimating future changes to the landscape. Eve’s research incorporates all these methods. With large portions of human population and infrastructure existing along the coast and increasing concerns of sea-level rise, chronic erosion, and frequent storms, it is now more important than ever to understand these systems and model how they may behave in the future.
